This one wasn’t the easier to fit into the frame. Though the finished product is soooo nice. I will definitely make more!

2011 Knitting resolution

KNIT ONLY FROM STASH!!!

I’ve been knitting in 2010 but mostly buying yarn as and when I needed it. But our recent move to a bigger apartment, made me realise just HOW MUCH YARN I have. Piles of sock yarn (admittedly I did stock up before coming to HK), cotton and odd balls of various weights.

SO, 2011 will be the year of finishing and stash busting. I promise to only buy yarn if it is for a special gift but will try to keep to my resolution at all times. I have already started the ‘finishing’ part and am steaming ahead on the Phildar Gilet Kimono. Its been in time-out for nearly a year as the pattern is just such a pain to figure out. I’ve had to restart this sucker 5 times. Now, I have the chart enlarged, every tenth stitch is highlighted and marked accordingly on the work with markers. And I mark off every row as I go. So far, touch wood, all is going well. I’m near halfway on the first part which is much further than I was on any of the previous 4 times. But I will not be beaten. HA!

Did I tell you I got this? Its a cover up of a previous tattoo which was tiny by comparison. This one has everything that I love – yarn, Hello Kitty and stars!
Its true what they say though. Tattoos are addictive!

I hailed a can the other day and look what I found! The whole inside had crocheted doilies with custom plastic covers.

Stupid but effective. My Iphone headphones always becomes tangled in my handbag (OK, maybe I need a smaller handbag or less crap!) and so I made these little stockings for them. They are are colourful and don’t get into a mess!
